Back in January, I posted on getting into the world of (listening to) Podcasts. I said I would discuss some good podcasts once I had sampled a few, and now I am… three months later…
.NET Rocks: This weekly Microsoft-oriented webcast can be a bit overly technical at times, but is a good listen for Microsoft software developers wanting to stay on top of the next big technology.
TWiT: This Week in Tech, as I mentioned last time, is great for staying up-to-date on the latest technical news and gadgets coming out. The hosts can be humorous at times and the topics rarely go into enough depth to lose the average listener.
Sound Off: Hey, who said I was only going to discuss geek-related podcasts. “Sound Off with Keith Murphy” is the audio version of the weekly sports talk show on the Des Moines news channel 13, where people can call in and talk about their favorite sports teams and discuss the latest news or scandels. The “What’s Bugging Andy” segments never fails to make me laugh, and there’s almost always some banter going around between Iowa State Cyclone fans and Iowa Hawkeye (spelled s-h-m-u-c-k-e-y-e) fans.
In addition, I’ve discovered that UC Berkeley has made available to the public some of its course lectures as Podcasts for download, which is very cool! It’s like auditing a class and still not even having to physically attend lecture. I’m currently taking
“History 7b: From the Civil War to the Present.” Ahh, to be out of school, where learning is considered “fun”…
