This Ninja knows his stuff. And his answers and explanations are hilarious.
Even though I don’t have a video iPod, I still subscribe to this podcast and watch it on the computer.

Wow. This is just phenomenal.
Phenomenal!
This morning, I was performing the occasional ritual of browsing through the blogs of people I don’t know, just to see what others are taking the time to write about. The cool thing with this is that, often times, the writer will link to somebody else’s blog, who will then link to yet another blog, etc. etc. and the chain continues.
So, this morning I came across a post about an un-aired WB pilot called “Nobody’s Watching” that was seeing a lot of popularity on YouTube. I watched the pilot and must say I really wish somebody would pick this up. Quoting the author of the aforementioned blog, “[The writers] come up with a sitcom that satires reality TV and the horrible state of the sitcom.” And I must agree, I was laughing out loud at several moments (and I don’t often laugh out loud to TV shows).
Check out this site to watch the un-aired pilot in its entirety.
It’s been a few weeks since my last post. I’ve been trying to find time to write more on here – I know I have a few topics I want to cover, but I just haven’t had time to finish any drafts.
In the meantime, I’ve taken over as webmaster of the Des Moines Rowing Club web site. It’s a fairly light-weight job, mostly consisting of updating the meeting minutes and calendar every month, as well as any other changes in content that they request. Previously, the web site was written in SHTML, but over time, I’ll be converting it over to PHP so to make it more robust and maintainable.
Looking through the web site, I’ve considered how I would take an agile approach to converting it over to a more server-side language. Following the UP approach, I would have a type of inception phase where I could identify the stakeholders and define an overall vision of what the end-goal of this project would be.
Then again, with a commitment of a few hours a month, any software methodologic approach may be a bit overkill… = )
I updated my WordPress blog software from version 1.5.x to version 2.0.2 this week and I must say that I really do like the upgrade. There are a lot of new bells and whistles that have been added just to the Post-writing section alone. And the upgrading was a piece of cake, thanks to their excellent documentation page.
In other news, I’m continuing my work on a new design for the site. It’s not that I don’t like the default theme I chose for my blog (because I do), I just want to make it a little more personalized. Hopefully, I’ll have the design finalized this week and I’ll begin implementing it by the weekend.
Haven’t decided if I want to incorporate theRingworX into my blog title or not. Decisions, decisions…
I haven’t had anything worth mentioning for a while now, mostly because I haven’t had much going on worth mentioning. Yes, I’m super busy at work and, yes, I am enjoying it (as much as one can enjoy work), but that leaves little time for other things in life. At least for now.
So, I’m shifting focus of this blog (after only a few short posts…) to topics that surround my work. Maybe I’ll have more to write about now that I’ve defined a scope of topics with which to write.
We’ll see how this goes.
